Thoroughbred Taekwon-Do is one of Australia’s largest and most successful International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) schools, with affiliated and associated branches in most Australian States. We are always keen to welcome new Thoroughbreds on board.
We are affiliated with United ITF Taekwon-Do (Australia) Inc. which has been officially recognised as the Australian Independent National Organization (INO # 23) representing the International Taekwon-Do Federation (Canada HQ), by President Choi Jung Hwa, 9th Degree.
We are a martial arts club located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs (Balwyn North, Canterbury).
Thoroughbred Taekwon-do was named in 1994, although has been open as a school since 1990, founded by Master Michael Muleta (8th Degree)
Head instructors of the Balwyn School include Justin Chin 6th degree, Jeremy Chin 5th Degree and Corey Chin 5th degree.
The main objectives of Thoroughbred Taekwon-Do are to provide high quality instruction and opportunities for students, developing their skills and moral culture in a fun, yet disciplined, environment.
The main objective of I.T.F. training, as we regard it, is to maintain the true value of Taekwon-do as a self-defense, not merely a tournament sport. Students who study with discipline, application and dedication will be greater people with knowledge and skills, and more importantly the morality and sense of humanity, not merely the ability to kick and punch.
