How’s the Summer body coming along ?

Summer body

We are officially less than a month away from the warmer days of summer & if you haven’t already started getting that summer body ready, you certainly should right away. Not only for the sake of looking your best in your favourite summer dress, T-shirt, shorts or tank top, but so that you FEEL amazing as well.

Summer is not just a season, it also has a feeling & that feeling is fun, freedom, hot summer nights & time spent feeling active & doing those things you wanted to do all year long (but it was too cold to do them). Summer feels awesome, which is why you should feel awesome on the inside in preparation. Nothing is going to spoil the approaching summer mood more so than going swimwear shopping BEFORE your body is summer ready & I know you ALL know what I’m talking about.

You THINK you’re ready for it, you’re excited, you spot the swimsuit you want to try on & hit the fitting rooms like a boss. And boom… the fluorescent lighting hits your pasty, winter body like spotlight on every inch of flesh you didn’t spend the time to tone up & get… SUMMER READY!

Mournful & depressing, I know. But it’s not too late, I assure you.

Start today. Make wiser food choices & eat a little less, especially when eating out. Opt for salad on the side of lean proteins, instead of the standard meat with a side of chips. Eating fresh food like salad & less of the fried stuff will reduce digestive discomfort & bloating, which means a leaner waistline.
Salad also naturally contains significantly less salt than your side of chips so your body will retain less unnecessary fluid, which means less puffiness from top to toe.

Eating seasonally provides your body with the nutrients it needs to prepare for the oncoming months. Think about including Asian greens such as bok choy and choy sum, broccoli, beetroot, cabbage, carrots, spinach, pumpkin, lettuce & leeks into your diet. Power up on seasonal fruits such as avocadoes, cumquat, blood oranges, rhubarb, tangerines, pears & bananas.

Get in touch with a Nutritionist to find out more about managing your weight & learn to stay summer ready all year long by eating the right foods, at the right time.

Stay active, start a fitness program or book in with a Personal Trainer for quicker results. A Personal Trainer can help you target problem areas (like those you’ve been sitting on all winter) & tone up in no time at all.  Combining a moderate amount of physical activity with a little dietary change is the most effective means to losing the excess winter weight.

Exfoliate all over. Exfoliation is more than just removing dry, winter skin cells. It’s a means of detoxifying by encouraging blood flow to neglected areas of your skin & body tissues. A regular body scrub will assist in maintaining youthful skin as well as to encourage the flushing out of toxins & impurities.

Get active, move more, eat less & exfoliate to look & feel your best for summer. Glow, baby, glow.
